JAIME BROCKETT
Jaime Brockett (pronounced “Jamie”) is a memorable and uniquely stylish New England folksinger. As the Boston Globe described him, Jaime is a “hard-core, unregenerated folkie.”
Jaime Brockett may not be a household name, but to those who’ve had the pleasure of hearing his music — live or recorded — Jaime’s an instant legend.
A BRIEF BIO: JAIME BROCKETT
Today, Jaime lives in a picturesque corner of New England, collects vintage guitars, and nods at armadillos as he passes them en route his next concert.Jaime has always filled his movie (aka, his life) with adventures, great music, witty dialogue, and clever observations. He sees his life through sunny yellow lenses as he roams from one coffeehouse or club (and grateful audience) to the next.
Jaime is well-respected as a musician since he made his mark on folk music in the late 1960s. His first album, Remember the Wind and the Rain, attracted loyal fans who — more than 30 years later — sometimes drive hundreds of miles for one of Jaime’s performances.
Jaime’s other albums include: Jaime Brockett 2 - 1970 (Capitol Records), North Mountain Velvet - 1977 (Adelphi Records), and Road Dancer - 1996, (Private release).
Jaime’s music has evolved far beyond “The Legend of the U.S.S. Titanic.” In his 21st century performances, Jaime’s original observations are as appreciated as his songs.
Jaime Brockett is a folk music icon, an entertainer on- and offstage, and he’s still legendary for his sizzling, pan-fried steaks.
Running the River-Live 5/19 7-10pm

In addition to their original songs Running The River performs a wide range of music from artists such as Johnny Cash, The Grateful Dead, The Beatles,The Kingston Trio, Bob Dylan, The Clancy Brothers, Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones.
Neil Yetwin – Guitar and Vocals
Barry Weinstein – Fiddle and Vocals
Dennis Davis – Guitar and Vocals
Fred Woodward – Bass, Guitar and Vocals
Neil Yetwin plays guitar and sings for Running the River, having begun performing solo and in bands since his early teens. Influenced by all of the arists who influenced his colleagues in Running the River, he also absorbed the music of Bob Dylan, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Dion & the Belmonts, the Sons of the Pioneers, and TV Western theme songs from the 1950′s and 60′s. Neil lives in Schenectady, NY.
Albany, NY native Barry Weinstein plays fiddle for Running the River and occasionally sings harmony vocals. He studied music performance at SUNY-Potsdam and SUNY-Albany and began playing bluegrass and country music after attending the Mark O’Connor Fiddle Camp in 1996. Barry has performed in a number of country rock and bluegrass bands in the Capital District at venues such as the Parting Glass, Cafe Lena, and Saratoga First Night, as well as fairs and festivals where his bands opened for national acts as Lonestar and Rascall Flatts. Among his favorite artists are Alison Krauss, Natalie McMaster, Kenny Baker, the Steve Miller Band and Junior Brown. Barry’s instrument of choice is an acoustic Guarnerius copy fiddle, but when the size of the venue calls for it he turns to his L.R. Baggs pickup or Sonic electric violin Backed up by a Peavey Session 400 amp and Bluemax compression/sustain rack mount.
Dennis (Denny) Davis started playing guitar in 1963 and gave his first public performance at a college “hootenanny” in Washington, D.C. in October, 1964. Since that time, Denny has played almost continuously in a variety of musical groups. His musical influences come from many musical genres, including American and Irish folk, pop, bluegrass and blues. Among the performers who have influenced him the most are the Kingston Trio, the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, the Beatles, the Dillards and Eric Clapton. Denny plays guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals with Running the River, chipping in from time to time on mandolin. Denny lives in Niskayuna, NY.
Running the River bassist, guitarist and vocalist Fred Woodward has performed in a number of groups over the past 30 years. Though he grew up listening to classical and Big Band music, his musical interests expanded to include bluegrass, folk, rock, Irish, blues and latino. His bluegrass and country interests began when he attended an Earl Scruggs show, in addition to attending and eventually performing at local bluegrass festivals. In addition, Fred absorbed music from an old jukebox that had all the old country songs on it. “I used to go to a bar that was on a dirt road about two miles from a paved road” recalls Fred. “I don’t think the records on the jukebox had been changed since the early 50′s. Beers were cheap, the third one was on the house for regulars, and I always fed the jukebox.” Fred’s interests in the blues began with Eric Clapton and found its way back to the roots artists like Willie Dixon, Freddie King, Howlin’ Wolf. Little Walter, Magic Sam and of course Robert Johnson, the legendary “King of the Delta Blues”. All of these influences can be heard in Fred’s orginal songs such as “Hit The Ground Running” and “Down By The Riverside”. In addition to performing, Fred also handles Running the River’s sound system and recording sessions.

Lost Radio Rounders 5/12 7-9:30PM

In the early days of radio, families would gather around the fancy tabletop Philco Cathedral on Saturday nights and tune in favorites from the Mississippi Delta, the Great Smoky Mountains or the plains of Texas. The big shows — like the Grand Ole Opry, the National Barn Dance and King Biscuit Time — brought music into every home from coast-to-coast. Revisit the lost days of live radio with this broad selection of favorites and re-discovered relics from across the spectrum. In addition to a mixed-bag of hillbilly, gospel, string band and classics from the folk tradition, expect nuggets from the likes of the Delmore Brothers, Cousin Emmy and Hank Williams.
Lost Radio Rounders make music from another time and another place.
Before the days of MP3s and file sharing; before the days of “American Idol” and MTV; heck, before the days of Steve Allen and Ed Sullivan, Americans found their music on the radio, played live and as part of the fabric of everyday life. Even earlier than that, Americans made their own music, finishing work, eating a hot meal and pulling a fiddle or banjo off the wall as the evening sun went down.
Lost Radio Rounders play those songs, from the Great Smoky Mountains, from the Mississippi Delta, from the plains of Texas, from the 1850s to the 1950s. It’s Saturday night music and Sunday morning music, live from the Philco Cathedral. Twirl the dial and let the magic happen.
Is it Hank Williams on the Louisiana Hayride? Is it Woody Guthrie and Lefty Lou on KVFD, out of California? Is it Uncle Dave Macon on the Grand Ole Opry? Bradley Kincaid on the National Barn Dance? Cousin Emmy & Her Kinfolk on KMOX? The Carter Family coming in on 50,000 watts out of Mexico? No, it’s Lost Radio Rounders.
Lost Radio Rounders are Tom Lindsay and Michael Eck. Lindsay and Eck have been playing Historic American Music together for over 25 years, beginning with the popular Albany NY electric roots band, Chefs of the Future. It’s all acoustic now, with the duo accompanying themselves on guitar and mandolin along with flashes of dobro, ukulele, strumstick, autoharp and banjo. Eck and Lindsay take this stuff seriously, but they have lots of fun.
In addition to their lives as musicians, Lindsay teaches a music history course and Eck is a nationally-respected music writer. Lost Radio Rounders is a natural extension of Lindsay and Eck’s fascination with the myriad sounds and styles of American folk music as first recorded in the early 20th century. But instead of a scratchy 78 rpm disc, Lost Radio Rounders audiences experience the thrill of the music firsthand. And thanks to what folklorist Alan Lomax called “the deep river of song,” no two performances are exactly alike.
In addition to concerts, club shows and, yes, radio appearances, Lost Radio Rounders also present a number of more style/artist specific programs, including “The Gospel Train: Historic American Spiritual & Religious Music,” “Lincoln And Liberty: Songs From The Time Of Honest Abe,” “Wildwood Flower: Songs Of The Original Carter Family” and “American Favorite Ballads: Songs From Folkways.” All are marked by the same fervor, the same joy and the same need to “do the radio boogie, all over the dial.”
