A Night Of Wine & Painting w/ Jessica Scisci Postponed Until Further Notice

Enjoy a night of wine and painting!  It doesn’t matter what your artistic skill level is because this class is designed to let you relax, sip wine and socialize with friends while casually creating your very own acrylic painting.  We’ll come together to learn a few things about acrylic painting, exploring how to mix colors, choose a style to paint in and experiment with different techniques.  Everything you need to paint your masterpiece will be set up for you when you arrive.  All materials and supplies are included so all you have to do is show up and start having fun!  Wine is complementary. You will walk away with your very own completed acrylic painting on canvas.  Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, however smocks will be provided.  Class fee is $40 which includes all materials, set up and clean up. Come and enjoy an afternoon of fun, playing around with oil paints!  It doesn’t matter what skill level you are because this class is designed to let you relax and enjoy painting in any style you wish.  We’ll come together to enjoy each other’s company while casually learning a few things about oil painting, exploring how to mix colors, choose a style to paint in and experiment with different techniques.  You will walk away with your own personal oil painting masterpiece on canvas.  All materials/supplies are included so you can just show up and start having fun!  Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, however smocks will be provided.  Class fee is $50 which includes all materials, set up and clean up.

Photographic Mini-Lessons

This series of mini lessons will range from some of the following topics:

Black & White  Photography & Conversions, High Dynamic Range Photography, Bokeh & Depth of Field Techniques, Wide Angle & Panoramic Photography, Infrared, Composition Techniques, Post Processing Ideas and Techniques, High Speed Shooting, Tilt Shift Techniques, Motion Blur, Night Photography, Long Exposure Techniques, Macro Photography, Portrait Photography Techniques, and the list goes on…

These lessons will be either individual or group lessons based on attendance and will range from $15.00-$50.00 in cost depending on the techniques and materials needed to put the lessons on.  As I announce them they will be posted under the Special Events and Classes section of the website. Some fun to be had for sure!

 

Pine Needle Basket Making w/ Anita Wahlen 2/25 9AM-3PM

Using Southern Longleaf Pine Needles, participants will make a basket using the coiled technique of Native American Basket makers. A brief history of materials(collection and preparation) will also be presented. This technique requires concentration and patience, but participants will be rewarded with a beautiful and unique basket.

Things to bring to class: Scissors, Embroidery Scissors (if you have them)and a small kitchen towel to wrap the needles.

Class fee is $35.00 for a six hour class.  Standard material fee is $6.00 however Anita has embellishments and additional materials you can purchase to make your basket even more unique should you wish to.

Block Printing Class w/ Valerie Gordon 1/28 10AM-2PM

This introductory class will explore the simple technique of hand pressed block prints. You will learn how to carve a rubber block and how to properly ink and print images on paper. You can create yourown design or for those not comfortable drawing freehand, bring in a photo of something (ex. your pet, a landscape, an object, or even a person) to trace. Using tracing paper you can recreate an image onto your block and print it. All tools will be provided, but if you would like to bring in your own colored paper or card stock feel free. We will be carving and printing with 4" x 6" blocks (perfect for greeting cards!) Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty or wear a smock.  Class fee $50.00 which includes all materials.  $25.00 deposit due at time of registration to reserve spot.
